About Master's Monkeys

Paul Aka Kessler and
the Master's Monkeys family:

... and yet another member to come !

Who is behind Master's Monkeys?

Master’s Monkeys is Paul Aka Kessler.

Formed in spring 2005, you can say Master's Monkeys is a one-man egotrip. Some say I called it Master's Monkeys because I didn't have a fancy name for a solo artist. But the reason behind it is that Master's Monkeys is far more than just one guy with an acoustic guitar playin' singer/songwriter stuff. I decided to be free to work with whomever I want – and Master's Monkeys simply sounds better than “Paul A. Kessler & Friends“, doesn't it?

So let me introduce a few people you can relate to the Master's Monkeys-Family:

First of all there is Anto A. Marijic, a brilliant guitarist from Croatia who played lead and slide guitars on several Master's Monkeys recordings since the very beginning. You can see him in action on almost every concert.

Frank Beilstein plays drums/percussion, accordion & melodica - A full-blooded musician; always deep inside the music, forgettin' the world outside.

We are so glad that our ways crossed. It's good to know Frank - Applause! t.

Farsin Chahidi

A laid-back, unflappable, unshakeable, unbreakable optimist. He brings in a lot of positive energy and that’s good for the music and good for the other bandmembers.

You can say Farsin is an allround musician playin’ lots of instruments. With Master’s Monkeys he plays trumpet, bluesharp & percussion. He’s also doin’ back-up vocals.

Lukas Carthaus

A very fine and unique bass player and a real boon for the band, playin' electric and double bass as well. He is a very expressive personality on stage and it's a great pleasure to perform with him.

Martin Kessler – Yes, you're right, he is Master's brother. A great bass player, groovin' on most of Master's Monkeys studio recordings. He's also Master's high-tech-specialist and programmer, providing excellent IT-support.

Marius - A young talented allround musician.
You need a vocalist? You need a guitarist? You need a percussionist? Marius all in one! He sang the background vocals on the “Master's Monkeys I“ maxi single and played a fantastic guitar solo on “God's Monkeys“. He is also the hard-working bandleader of T-MUSHROOOM.

Now you have an idea about us. And if you’re still questioning:
So far so good, but what does Master's Monkeys mean?

There’s no big philosophy – Let's answer with a Blues!

God's Monkeys (P.A.Kessler) | 3.7 MB

Lyrics

If a god created this world he made us his monkeys / With deathless hands he tickles us with pain / There must be a higher soul just to savor the joke that we're on a world-mission, bein' the world's reason / We believe there's gonna be a twilight of the gods as we go in procession when the last man's layin' to rest / By 'n' by, mother earth looks like a burial mound glowin' and floatin' through the ocean of time and space
